FAQ

(Frequently Asked Questions)

Why are surveys so expensive?

Many factors are considered during the bid process such as, but not limited to: When was the property last surveyed? What is the terrain like? Is the property wooded or open? How many adjoiners (neighbors) are there? What is the purposed of the survey? If the client wants to build a fence, we have to install points on line between the corners for fence installing. How many acres is the property?

What is the process for surveying property?

Surveyors pull the deeds for the clients property and every property that touches the client’s property. Sometimes, we obtain deeds that are beyond our clients adjoiners to aid in the location of existing corners. Once the deeds are pulled, we draw them up to create an abstract of our clients property and every surrounding property. We notify adjoiners of a survey being performed and begin the field work process. Once all monuments are found or set, we prepare a plat of survey to deliver to the client. The above description is a fundamental process for the average survey.
